celem Posted June 25, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 25, 2004 I leave on a Celebrity cruise in a few days. I just received my cruise documents (6 days before departure) and I was surprised by, what I consider, steep rates for the internet cafe - 75 cents per minute! My last cruise was on the R2 in 2001 and I don't remember the internet cafe rates being anywhere near that high. What are other cruise lines charging? P.S.: Given these rates, I plan on using shore based internet cafes, which are usually $1 per half hour or better.
tomc Posted June 25, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 25, 2004 DSI (Digital Seas Inc) runs onboard internet services on nearly all ships. Their rates are .75/minute or two packages which I can't remember right now, but I think are .50/100-minute package or .40/200-minute package. Go to a lounge, write out what you want to say, log in and type like crazy, log off. Don't stop, don't think. Log in, type, log out.

The last several cruises I have been on had rates similar to those listed here by TOMC.
