Skagway tour

While in Skagway, I am undecided on excursions. I love mountainous areas so am concidering the White Pass scenic Railway tour- 3 hours. How does this differ from the mini-bus tour of 1 1/2 hr?

If you love mountainous areas, take the train. You will see the most incredible views that you could imagine. Much better than you see from a bus or a van (we took the bus down). If you don't mind standing, stand outside between the rail cars as you're climbing the mountain. I thought a train would be boring for that long. Not so. I was sad it was over and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend it.

My Dad took the train last year while the rest of us boarded a ferry for Haines and the Eagle preserve. Boy did he get the better trip, better scenery and a smoother ride. If your thinking about the train, yes its worth it.

Last year we took both tours. The train was the best for the sights.
