We were offered an upgrade of moving from a porthole cabin, deck 5, front of ship to deck 4, mid ship with a window. We have the schematics(sp?) of the ship but cant tell what would be under us, on deck 3. It just looks like empy space. Wondering if it is storage space or something that might be noisey? Anyone know? Have to call TA back this afternoon? TIA. Karen

Hello Karen,

If memory serves me, deck 3 is primarily a crew deck; also sometimes used for embarking/disembarking. We were in stateroom 4018 to Bermuda last autumn and never heard any noise from deck 3. (Nor from above us, deck 5, for that matter.) A stateroom amidships on deck 4 should be fine--a nice window, and you will feel less motion than in a forward stateroom on deck 5. Go for it, & enjoy!

Regards,

John
