Favorite Hotels: Rome and Florence

Does anyone have any favorite places to stay in Rome and Florence. We've been to both before. Hope to stay near the Spanish Steps in Rome and anywhere centrally located in Florence. Thanks for any information.

The Eden Hotel in Rome is within walking distance to the Spanish Steps. It also has one of Rome's top restaurants on the top floor with a great view of Rome.

 

The Westin hotel in Florence was very nice and well located beside the river.

It's a small (20 room), charming, upscale (4 star) hotel with a great location on the Arno River.

 

 

In Rome we stayed at the Excelsior on the Via Veneta. Large 5 star hotel with gorgeous rooms and public area's. Close to Spanish Steps.
