port canaveral what if rental car companies close early?

I have been on the websites of the car rental companies and they seem to close pretty early 5 or 6 does anyone know if you can still drop the cars off and then will the shuttles still run??

I am cruising on the Fantasy in August, and the ship sails at 4 pm. So I will be on board way before the rental counter at Budget is closed.

 

What time does your ship sail, or are you renting when you get off the ship? Or both, maybe?

Is budget the best option? Going on Glory in August and looking to rent car to drive myself.

They have an agency by Port Canaveral. 1615 Merritt Island Drive or something like that. Have called them 2-3 times to make sure, yes they do, and YES they have a shuttle to the Port. We'll be on the Glory Jul 29.

Avis is another one I have seen recommended. I just go with the best price. . .

I have a car reserved at both Budget and Avis. These are probably your only bets from what I have read. Enterprise really doesn't do one way rentals so I really wouldn't waste my time with them.

For my one-way rental from Orlando Airport to Port Canaveral, I've booked with Thrifty. Budget and Thrifty were by far the cheapest. I think it'll run me around $89 for 3 full days.
