I am booked on the Pride of Aloha in August 06 - Doe anyone know if the beaches are close to where the ship docks in each port? Thanks.

You will be goiong to Hawai before me, but this is the info that I have gathered so far. In Kona, there is a shuttle to get to a nice beach for snorkeling (about $10, not sure if that price is one way or roundtrip). In Kauai, you can walk to the beach infront of the Marriot hotel. Hilo and Kahalui do not have beaches near the port. I hope that this helps.
