Jane110 Posted June 30, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 30, 2006 Famed fashion designer Fernando Sanchez died today at the age of 70 at his home in NYC. He died from complications from a bug bite he got in Morocco two years ago. Sanchez was originally from Spain, went to Paris to study with Yves St. Laurent early in his career before heading to NYC where he's designed clothing, furs and at home fashions ever since. His most famous "signature" looks are the rainbow colored, double-faced brushed back robes, pj's and caftans that are sold in Neiman Marcus and Sak's. The fashion world has lost one of it's most memorable designers today.
nancyrg Posted June 30, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 30, 2006 That is sad news. I am a big fan of his work and have enjoyed his robes and pjs for years. God bless him and his family.
Jane110 Posted June 30, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted June 30, 2006 I'm also a big fan of his designs. The article didn't go on to say if his company would go on and handled by a significant other or a family member. I'm sure future articles will.
