J&KCruisers Posted July 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2006 We are scheduled for our first salmon fishing in Alaska on July 31! Just curious if anyone is fishing in Juneau and what are they catching?
Captain Gus Posted July 8, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 8, 2006 We are catching all 5 species of salmon in Juneau right now. We are catching Pinks, Chums, Silvers, King, and Sockeye Salmon. I took out a 4 hour trip today and released 3 Pinks and 1 undersized King and kept 1 Chum and 4 Silvers. The King Salmon was 27 inches - only 1 inch under the legal limit. It is still a bit early for the salmon run in Juneau, so with this early catch, the fishing looks like it will be great by the time you are in Juneau. Fish on! Capt. CanCanCase Posted July 11, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 11, 2006 Add to that a "grand-slam" of all 5 species of salmon on my boat yesterday. It's a great time to be fishing in Juneau right now... -Case
