NCL Jewel question

My husband, daughters ages 20 and 17.5, and I will be sailing this Saturday on our first cruise. We're all anxiously looking forward to this long needed vacation!! Any ideas or suggestions on activities the ship has to offer for two gals this age?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There's a daily newsletter (Freestyle Daily) that will list everything going on. The pool's open sun up to sun down.

 

I assume you plan to do some exploring in Italy? That can keep you busy for half your vacation, easily,

 

You'd be hard pressed to get bored on the Jewel. On our recent cruise, we missed so many things because we didn't have time.

We traveled with our granddaughters a few years ago when they were just about that age. There is the teen program but even the 17 year old may feel she is a little too old for it. I would think she would want to give it a try. Actually with the ports, the pool, the shows, plus things like ping pong, etc they will probably stay plenty busy. Our oldest granddaughter got married on Celebrity last Dec. The young guests ranged in age from 18 to about 23 and never seemed to be bored. Dave is right, I am sure they will find many things to keep them busy; make sure they check out the freestyle paper every night for the next days activities. NMnita

We just got back from the Jewel last night. We had a great cruise but what made it special were the excursions. Not a lot to do hanging around ship all day but the variety of things to do in port is AMAZING. We did the Taoromina and Sicilan vineyard in Sicily, it was probably the best tour we took, Taoromina was beautiful and the Vineyard served a fantastic lunch. Naples was not worth getting off the boat unless you were going to one of the Roman ruin sites. Rome, especially the Vatican was an experience, even for someone who is not very religious. Just be prepared ffor incredibly long lines to get in for the tour. the next port was up by florence, we took the trip to Siena which was incredible beautiful and fascinating. This was along with the tour of the Tuscan countryside which is very beautiful. Our last stop was in Villefranche and we opted to not take a tour but just stroll the very hilly and beautiful seaside village. There is a very nice flea market at the top of the hill, we spent a total of 2 hours in town and then the rest of the day at the pool, it was a wonderful ending to the vacation.

We had friends on the ship, we didn't know it until my wife almost jumped out of her shoes when she ran across the Casino after seeing them, I though someone had passed out she moved so fast. They had the 20 and 18 year old girls/young women with them on the ship, did a lot of excursions and all seemed to have a great time.
