Does anyone know if there are any private companies that are waiting to take people to Odense once we dock? I would like to see where HCA lived but I do not want to do the all day ship tour. We leave next week so I would like any help.

I suppose that you are meaning Aarhus/Århus (the Å is pronounced like the Or in Oregon)

 

By the way, the reason that the city name is also written with the double a is that the letter å is a relatively new letter in the Danish alphabet (1948, but it has been used since the year 1400 in sweden too shorten the letters) and in the old times there was only the double or long a.

 

 

Back to the Subject this webside is very helpful in tours in the Island of Funen and thats including HC Andersens hometown Odense.
