Summit entertainment?

DH and I will be traveling on Summit Aug 5-12 to Alaska. Anyone just off the Summit who can tell us how the entertainment was? We've enjoyed going to a show every night on past cruises (this will be our first time on X, though) and hoping to do more of the same on Summit.

I've seen from doing a search that there is a Broadway review, but what else is there? How is the comic? And what about the Cirque du Soleil show - is it a "don't miss?" Are the movies they show in the cinema first-run film, or older movies?

Thanks in advance,

Laura

I thought the entertainment was wonderful on the Summit. Certainly don't miss the cirque de soleil show. They were fantastic. Watch the first night's show to get and idea of what to expect.

I didn't really watch the comedians. The broadway performances were good too. There was the tribute to broadway and another show that I think was female singers. I remember, Cher, Madonna.

Hi Laura !

As your other questions were answered, I will take on the movie question. They are not first run, but they are fairly new. They would be something you would see in the movie theater about 2-3 months ago.

I hope that answers your question. Enjoy your Cruise !

The aerialists, Rebecca and Phillippe, perform at all of the production shows, and they are fantastic. I actually liked them MORE than the Cirque performers...

Andy, on my cruise in May, the movies were older than that. I know that "CRASH" was one of the movies, and that was over a year old. I think that "MILLION DOLLAR BABY" was another, and that one was even older...

They have more recent movies available pay per view on your cabin televisions...

Saw all 4 production shows with the singers and dancers and they were outstanding. Aerialists, Rebecca and Phillippe, (in one show they just did lifts and flexibility moves) were spectacular. On a level with Cirque. We missed the comedian because we had been on shore the whole day and when we returned, we were eating and forgot about it. Taste of Cirque was great as usual. I had seen one show at Disney World in the past. The pianist/musician that played one night was very good, just not my taste in music. The string quartet that was in different areas in the evening was very good. On sea days, we played some ping pong, took some ballroom dancing lessons, and played some trivia. Did not do much partying late at night. Spent a little time in the casino. Only made a small contribution!

Some of the other movies were "Longest Yard" and "Hitch".
