I am going on the POH in September and the excursion prices are even higher than I expected. Are there excursion booths on the dock that are more economically priced?

Hilo, no problem. There are plenty outside the dock. For kona, there were a few. The other ones were a bit harder. I'd research as much as i can outside companies in the stores. For kuhului, i saw some outside tour companies in lahaina, but yea... So do your research online.
