Upsell

Recommended Posts

As it gets closer to your cruise date, 1-2 months, have your TA feel out what cabins are still available. Also, figure out now what is the most you are willing to pay for the upsell and tell your TA. Have your TA request an upsell. They might have to go back and forth with the NCL agent a few times to barter.

We got an owners suite that way. NCL lowered the price by 1/2 of the original "offer"(3 weeks beofre sailing). Depending on the season will dictate availability. Hope you have a good TA, they can make all the difference for you.

Good luck

Well it really depends on the ship but we went from a BA to an AA. Started at $1200 a person upsell offer, got it for lots less; But we had to cross our fingers and wait til almost 2-3 before sailing to find out.

If you are on a newer ship with an AA or A1 normally at $5000 a person and you are in a BA at $1200 person, it might not be a great offer. Again it just depends on the TA and what is selling. If there is a great demand for standard balconies and there are a few suites available, then NCL will be more willing to upsell/upgrade you to a suite to sell sell those balconies. It kind of is a game of who wants it badly enough to pay the highest price. It also depends on the mood of the NCL agent on the other end.

Good Luck

PS -We've told our TA we are open to an upsell offer for our cruise on POH. BUT we book what we will be happy with now and if we get upgraded/upsold then it's a bonus.

Mistbaby-- Worked with Karen, on our 7/8/06 Alaska, NCL-Sun trip, she was great. We upselled from a balcony BB the a mini suite on the stern for $150 per person. I think it was a great deal and we really enjoyed the suite & the trip. SeaFAB
