KandMGIn Posted September 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 8, 2006 Hi all....friends of ours are cruising with us on Jan 6th 07 and one is a British Subject with resident alien staus here (US). Can others in this same position tell me whether you have needed more than your British Passport when doing a Caribbean cruise? If no, have you been told that you will as of January? Bluenose Sandy Posted September 8, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 8, 2006 To re-enter the US, they'll need to prove status in the US: green card if permanent residents. Visa valid for re-entry if not. The only problem they might run in to, and I don't know if UK citizens are even given these types of visas, is if they entered the US on a single-entry visa. elsje Posted September 8, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 8, 2006 As a previous resident alien I had to have a valid passport from my country (Holland) to enter the US a long with my alien card. I have cruised this way twice prior becoming a US Citizen last year and have made many trips by plane to Caribbean and Mexican destinations. Make sure your registered alien card is not expired and your passport can not be expiring within 6 months, I believe many countries require that as well. KandMGIn Posted September 10, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted September 10, 2006 Thanks for the info...my concern was that some of our ships ports might require her to get a visa. Hopefully this will not be a problem.
