NattysMom Posted September 25, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2006 Has anyone done this excursion through Norwegian? We're taking the Pearl in February. It says it goes to Hol Chan Marine Reserve and "famous Shark Ray Alley." Is Ambergis Caye part of the reserve? I'm just starting to research our trip and I'm trying to get a handle on the best excursions for snorkeling. Does this sound like a good one? Thanks! Elizabeth :)
Rare Smellytoes Posted September 30, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 30, 2006 We're taking the Dawn in April and I was interested in this excursion also. I was wondering if anyone knew if there is any beach time. It also states that kids have to be 12 and I'll have a 10 yo with me but she's a great swimmer. I wonder how strict NCL is regarding ages on their shore excusions. Anyone have any info???
nolaAlive Posted November 23, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 23, 2006 Nov 16, 2006 NCL Shark Ray Alley / San Pedro (Ambergris Caye) Not sure about age requirements, but no reason anyone comforatable in the water couldn't go. http://www.zydecocruiser.com/ncl_sun_2006/Belize/BE_icu.htm
POOHISME2 Posted December 13, 2006 #4 Share Posted December 13, 2006 I just returned from Belize on the Dawn and did the shark ray alley tour thru NCL. I was not really impressed. It is a 1.5 hour boat ride to the site and there was not a shark tobe found. We did see many stingrays and some beautiful coral, but at the end of the trip they thru some blood oveboard and one lone nurse shark came around. We were all out of the water by then. If you click on my webshot link you can see the photos of the shark from above the water. We then went to Ambergis Caye another 45 minute boat ride, had lunch and had time to walk around. ITS PRETTY SMALL AND NOT MUCH TO DO. It them took 2 hours to get back to the ship :(
