Caribbean Here We Come Posted July 13, 2004 #1 Posted July 13, 2004 We'll be going on the Golden's "Classic Caribbean" on August 8. Any suggestions for the best shore excursions in those ports? There are so many great ones to chose from! We are planning on doing the 4 wheel drive tours in St. Lucia, Barbados & Antigua. In Antigua, we are considering the Land Rover tour instead. Also planning on doing "Scenes of St Lucia", "Snorkeling with the Stingrays" in Antigua, Duck Tour in St. Martin. For our day in St. Thomas we think we'll take the ferry on our own to St. John & do a taxi tour of St. John. Any highlights or things of interest? It will be myself & my Mom traveling together. I'm 35 & she's in her 50's. We're both very much into nature & excited about the beautiful scenery we'll be seeing! Happy cruising to everyone & thanks so much for contributing to the message boards!!
tomvk Posted July 15, 2004 #2 Posted July 15, 2004 In St. Lucia we liked http://www.jungletours.com had a real good time ,in St. Thomas went to Trunk bay St.Johns to snorkle. There is an underwater national park there with signs naming the coral and fish and they do a real good job of fitting the equiptment. Caribbean Here We Come Posted July 15, 2004 Author #3 Posted July 15, 2004 Thanks for the info on the ports. Are the taxis in St. John shared among other people? In other words, if we want one just for two of us, would be able to get one at a reasonable cost? I read that they are $30 for 2 for two people. Does that sound right? Also we're confused about why the excursions to St John through Princess leave at 9:30 AM, while the times of the ferry are 9:00 AM or 11:00 AM. Is the extra time just to get the group together to board the 11:00 AM ferry? Or do they take the ferry from Red Hook instead of Charlotte Amalie??
