samtig Posted October 16, 2006 #26 Share Posted October 16, 2006 This is great ... every comment/opinion/word of advice is making us think a lot more about what type of cruise we want to do although it may take the first one to really know for sure ... which is easily solvable with a followup cruise :). As for the the time of year, I am even more sure of a December time frame than before asking the question. Now looking at first week of December and leaning towards an Eastern cruise. Just reading on these boards gets me excited and it's a whole year away!! I think the planning is as much fun as the actual vacation. That's exactly what we did! When we took our first cruise we came home & immediately scheduled another 3 mos. later. Been hooked ever since. DH says for me half the fun is the planning & going on "cc" every day. Have a great trip!
ptc002000 Posted October 17, 2006 #27 Share Posted October 17, 2006 We cruised carnival in 2004 for our very first cruise it was alright:confused: but we were kind of bored:cool: except when we were in port. We were like you wanted to know what it would be like to go on a cruise. I guess we were expecting more or maybe it was because we were learning as we went.Kind of figured it out on the 4th day of a 5 day cruise:mad: .We got home and thought about it and said there had to be more to it went to Disney last year and this year I decided to check out RCCL and found out it is right at the same prices but they offer more things to do [Rock climing wall, skating rink, movie theaters].Carnival has none of these which will help so we don't spend so much money in the casino.:)which is about all they offer except a couple of dance shows. So we decided to try it one more time I hope we have a better time if not my DH will never return i'm afraid. We are leaving Nov 25-Dec 2nd I hope you can decided. Good luck it's all up to you and what you like and want to do.
