raina*faith Posted October 19, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2006 Where do you go to make these reservations? And when is the best time. This will be our first time dining at the on board restaurant. What has been your experience with them? (Elegant? Quiet? Romantic?)
cruzobsessed Posted October 19, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2006 the location depends on the ship. you can go to royal caribbeans web site and look at the deck plans of your ship. we love portofinos and making reservations is the 1st things we do when we board. we go at twice, caribbean night in the dining room and formal night. we go as a family (husband and 2 teen sons) so there is no romance but it is a very romantic place. i usually wear capri pants a nice top and nice sandals. my husband and sons wear khaki's and polos. most people are dressed a little nicer but we (personally) hate dressing up on vacation. the food and service are outstanding. well worth the 20.00 per person. enjoy
Calicruisefamily Posted October 19, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 19, 2006 You are going to love it ! The food is so good and the service is great! We always go and make our reservation the first few hours of being on the ship that way we can get the day and time we want. Have a great time ! Cali:) Voyager W. CL-JW Posted October 19, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 19, 2006 Typically you can make your reservations at either Portofino's itself, or via phone.
Sue L Posted October 19, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 19, 2006 On the Explorer they had a table set up in the promenade taking reservations as well as taking them at the restaurant itself, and you can call. Sue
randrea Posted October 20, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 20, 2006 You should make reservations for two nights as soon as you get onboard. You won't be sorry, it's fantastic. We didn't go until our last night on our cruise last summer. It was so good, we were mad that we didn't go twice. You have to get the tiramasu, it's out of this world!! I still dream about it from time to time..hehe. Andrea
