Wind: Mechanical Breakdowns (Oct.18-28)

We just returned from the Wind . The ship is charming , weather and scenery were beautiful , but there were 2 breakdowns on the cruise .

First , one of the engines failed . This slowed the return from Fanning Island and resulted in skipping the port on Kauai .

Two days later there was a total power failure with loss of lights , AC ,elevators , toilets , running water , etc. The passengers and crew had to eat lunch on the pool deck , public toilets were locked , and sanitary conditions were worrisome .

Passengers were offered a free drink and $25 in shipboard credit ( not enough in my opinion ).

It would have been a nice cruise except for these problems .
