getting around

Got a question re getting around. We'll be in Ft Lauderdale mid-March staying at the Ft Lauderdale Renaissance for 2 nights after our cruise. The guys have tickets to go and see the Florida Panthers hockey and we are considering going to the Sawgrass Mills Mall while they do this. Without renting a car, what's the best way to get there and back. Is there a shuttle from the hotel or does the Mall offer a shuttle? Bus? Taxi? and how much would this cost. Just trying to get an estimate for budgetting.

The mall does not offer a shuttle service, per se. Some of the individual hotels offer a shuttle, have you checked with yours? I know the Hyatt Pier 66 offers one for their guests.

Tri County Airport Express charges $44 from Ft Lauderdale airport to Sawgrass Mills, call them for their rate from the Renaissance.

Cab fare would be $55-$65 each way depending on traffic.

Rental car would be most economical for you.

Your spouses can easily walk from the mall to the hockey arena. Most people park in the mall lot to avoid paying for arena parking. ;)
