Beach/Hotel in Los Cabos, Mexico

Thinking of booking for a 3 night weekend in Cabo San Lucas end of July at Pueblo Bonito Rose resort on Medina beach...But seen a few reviews on tripadvisor.com on the quality of the beach and of the water: murky water/mushy sand...(1) Is this true? How is the water quality in Los Cabos as compared to Cancun, or even Puerta Vallarta, Mazatlan etc...We have been to most beach areas in Mexico, but never been to Los Cabos, and heard otherwise good things about it...(2) Input on the hotel for those of you who have stayed there? What kind of music do they play at the pool? Heard that this Spanish mediterannean style hotel has more music than the sister Grecian style hotel next door, but not as good ocean views...Anybody knows of a room number for a good ocean view for either hotels??? (3) Read that these hotels are of walking distance to the fun downtown area...Any recommendations for authentic Mexican restaurants or fun nightlife would be appreciated...
