CB-Room Backs Elevator - NOISY???

I don't have specific info, either, but my experience has been that the cabin least likely to suffer from "mechanical" noise is the one with cabins on all sides (above, below, on both sides, and across the passageway). Any space near your cabin that isn't another cabin is a potential noisemaker! You will hear from those who have never had a problem, but the potential is there. Of course, you could be next to (or below, etc.)the "cruisers from Hades", too, but you might get them to quiet down--a conveyor belt or elevator won't listen to reason (or the Security officer) and might have to wait til port to get repaired.

If you have a choice, why take the chance?
