Need help deciding on this excursion...

My family and I are highly considering doing the "catamaran, snorkel, and beach" excursion through RCCL. Has anyone done this before? Is it mostly snorkeling and a little beach, or evenly balanced. I am not a snorkeler, but my dad and fiance would like to, so would I be okay just hanging out on the boat?
