madhouseinc Posted December 18, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 18, 2006 I went to my doctor this week to ask about taking airborne for my airplane trip and cruise - glad I did. Even though airborne is over the counter and natural in herb, etc, I take blood thinners and there could be a problem. Looks like I will be using it once before I get on the plane, but that is it. Splinter Posted December 19, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 19, 2006 No indication that Airborne or other herbs which claim to help prevent rhinovirus (colds, a respiratory illness) transmission has any effect in preventing Norwalk virus, which is a gastrointestinal (not airborne) infection. For both, your best protection is frequent and religious hand hygiene. http://www.dhpe.org/infect/norwalk.html
