Mediterranea Dinner formal nights

My wife and I are wanting to go as informal as possible while still not being "out of place" on the formal dining nights. I'd like some input from anyone recently on the Mediterranea or Magica, especially Caribbean cruises from last year or this year. I understand that many people love the formal nights so they can get all dressed up but we are not 2 of them. We wanted to sail Costa for the international flavor and would like to conform to the dress code to the degree that would be considered respectful. We have no intention of wearing jeans or shorts but would like to be comfortable. Any input would be appreciated.
