DePalm Island Question

We once took a ship's tour to DePalm Island and enjoyed it. We hear there is a city bus that goes by the DePalm Island pier. If we do that, at a cost of something like $1 per person, does anyone know if we can then pay, presumably a lesser amount than the ship's tour, and get the boat to DePalm Island and pay for use of the facilities? A quick look at the DePalm website would indicate that this may not be possible, but I thought it worth asking.
