I know that if you use the satallite phones it is very expensive, but what about calling cards? I am thinking about getting one just in case. Also is there a number that someone from home can call us in an emergency?

if you mean from the ship, yes you can use calling cards but they aren't much advantage since RCI will still charge you the $8.95/minute (or whatever it is) for your connection to the calling card company 800 number.
