Noise from the stairs?

Hi gang,

 

Just wondering if anyone has had a room that backs up to a stairwell and whether it is noisy or not. I have an inside cabin on the Sun and was concerned it might be a problem.

 

Will take earplugs just in case.

Last April we had an inside corner room before the stairs and elevator on the Majesty and heard nothing. Not sure if this would be true of all cabins at the end of the row, but our cabin was larger than the other inside cabins we've stayed in. :D

I was trying to find out the same thing. I'm guessing noise from the stairs may not be bad, but I'm wondering about traffic noise, since it will be a high-traffic area for people getting to elevators and congregating. This is our 2nd cruise and we are right behind the stairs, midship. Our first cruise we had an inside, but it was at the end of a hallway, at the back of the boat, turned out to be a wonderful location and very quiet! Nobody was ever walking by!
