natnat8465 Posted January 19, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2007 I've read on here somewhere that the beach at Amatique Resort is murky and that we could swim in the pool. If that's the case, I might as well stay on the boat. So, are there any *nice* public beaches at this port of call? If not, what are suggestions for a relaxing shore excursion? Arkansas Aussie Posted January 19, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2007 Hey nice to see an Arkansan on here! I'm a transplant from Australia my wife is a local. Looks like y'all are travelling on the same cruise as my wife and I. We were also at a loss as to what to do here. But after reading some folks reviews on here, we are going to get a taxi and go to Los Escobas waterfalls and if time remains drive down to Livingston to eat some authentic local food. Chickpea19 I believe wrote an excellent review of her trip to the falls. Its going to a great cruise!!!
monicajay Posted January 20, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2007 I'm not sure if you can "drive down to livingston" , I believe it is only accessible by boat.
natnat8465 Posted January 22, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted January 22, 2007 That does sound like a good alternative to the beach! Thanks so much! Are you a Hog fan?:D
CoNEY46 Posted January 29, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 29, 2007 two beautiful beaches I can reccomend are Sapphire Beach, & Coki Beach. Sapphire has nice clean calm water with OK snorkling opportunities. There is a restaurant to buy lunch, and you can rent wave runners Coki beach has nice clean calm water, but is much better for snorkling. There are at least a half dozen places to buy food, and coral world is right next to it. wave runner rentals are very close, in fact just across the road BTW, you will also love the Golden. she is a beautiful ship
