Ferries to La Havre

We will be embarking at Southampton on the QM2 on October 25, and would like to take a ferry to the area of the Normandy Beaches and Mont St. Michel. Does anyone know which ferry port would be the most convenient for this trip? Dover to Calais seems to be far out of our way.

 

Once we have this information, we can arrange for a car and driver to pick us up in Southampton, show us some of Stonehenge and possibly Winchester Cathedral, and deposit us at the correct ferry.

 

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The convenient option is to catch the ferry from Portsmouth, about 20 miles down the coast from Southampton. Portsmouth has lots of history (home of Royal Navy) and is worthwhile a visit itself.
