Bus stop in Monaco for the Tourist Train

Recommended Posts

Can anybody tell me what is the best stop to get off the#100 bus in Monaco for the Tourist train. From the Bus schedule I see that Liberte is the last stop. Is it far from this stop to where the Tourist train starts off from. Thanks for any help.

From the looks of this schedule, if Liberte is in fact the last stop, you will not have even made it to Monaco.

The tourist bus is within a stone's throw of the Palace, and directly accross from the entrance to the Oceanographic Museum.

Thank you so much for giving me this schedule. I have searched high and low to get a table that goes all the way to Menton, but could only get this one that goes as far as Liberte, since my confusion of Liberte being the last stop on bus line 100. This is the table I am referring to:-

So for the Palace would it be the stop for the casino or

Place d'Armes I should get off. Once again I am very grateful for your help.

I see a piece of my last post got missed off. I did add it seems like the Place d' Armes would be the stop . Also seems like a good place to begin a tour.

We took the train into Monte Carlo from Villefranche, so I'm not sure which would be best bus stop, but something before the casino stop should be closer. That area is at high elevations providing nice views of the area and harbor. Enjoy.

The Place D'Armes is down the hill from the Oceanographic Museum/Tourist train. It's a long walk up the hill to get there. Monaco has a local bus system. The bus to take would be the Monaco-Villes to Saint-Roman bus. There is a stop at the Place D'Armes and it will take you up the hill to a stop near the Tourist train. I believe the fare is 1.2 Euro one way.

Thank you Donlou and Rich yak. The problem with maps is that you do not see the hills on them. Just wondering if there is an elevator to take you up as I see there are elevators nearby on the map.

Ally,

I believe the elevators you are referring to are the ones that will take you up part way up the hill so that you can access Fontveille not the Oceonographic Museum or the Palace.

I thought when you told me about the bus that there probably would not be an elevator. But thanks anyway at least I am beginning to get the geography and the feel of the terrain. I think it will be a case of taking the bus from area to area. I heard that you can walk from the Palace to the casino in half an hour but why take the strain when there is a bus to take it off you. Thanks again for coming back

:D Let's just say it might take half an hour for a determined walker. Even though it's next to the sea, it can get quite hot and sweaty. Walking up and down the hills in a hurry could be a little too much.

In any case, enjoy your stay. I think the bus is the best way to go.
