Shipboard credit for booking with HAL while on a cruise?

While we were on our first cruise, we booked our second cruise and received a shipboard credit from HAL for the second cruise. I could even transfer the booking to my travel agent who found us a better price. Does anyone know if HAL still does this?

Yes, they do, but the amount of the credit has decreased.

I don't remember exactly what all the new amounts are, but I think I got $50 for a booking that used to get $150. It's a significant drop.

And I didn't get a bottle of wine this last time, either (January '07). I was sent a plate of 4 chocolate covered strawberries as a "thank you".

Well, at least they're giving some shipboard credit. And the chocolate is a nice touch (maybe better than the wine?).

I just did this in January and received $35 pp onboard credit (for booking a balcony guarantee) and NO chocolate-covered anything! :(

 

The best part of booking on board now is the $100 pp deposit :)
