If you are an active family and want to "Do" and not just "See"; Check elswhere for info on Ed and Bonnie at Edventure Tours. Great people, excellent tour. They will give you a choice of several things to do. For a 4 year old, swimming would be easy in the Cenotes with help from mom and dad. They can also take you to visit the Spider Monkeys, which a 4 year old would love. They can give you other suggestions. We were in a van with 2 other couples which was fine for us. But with a 4 year old, try to book a tour for just yourselves. That way you can tailor your activities to suit your needs. This is only one suggestion. I would say look over all the posts in the Calica thread. You may find something else that appeals to you. I found Ed and Bonnie that way. Good luck and Happy Cruising!:D

We just took our 4-1/2 year old daughter to Xcaret.

She loved the horses, caves, graves, butterflies, jaguars, fish, Mayan Indians, parrots, you-name-it. In our case, we were able to go after 4pm, when the price drops a lot, and to see the wonderful night show. You'd have to decide if it's worth it for a day trip.
