Overnight pre cruise in Juneau - Things we should do?

With plenty of time to spare I would recommend renting a car and seeing Juneau at your own pace. It's very easy to find your way around and there are maps with the car rental I'm sure. With extra time you can drive "out the road" about 18 miles, a nice drive to the Shrine of St. Therese, nice, peaceful area to walk around and you might even see whales from the bank there, and depending on the time of year you might see a black bear catching fish in the stream there.

You'll also be able to see the Mendenhall glacier at your own pace too, have time to hike. Or cross the bride onto Douglas Island and drive "out the road" to another beautiful spot to watch the ocean for whales.

Driving on your own is just such a great way to get a "feel" for any town.

Enjoy your trip.
