How to get to 'the baths'???

We are going to be on the Carnival Victory in 3 weeks. We will be going to St Thomas/St John. Someone recommended that we go to 'The Baths' in St John. I am trying to find out how we would get there from where we will be getting off the ship. I have never cruised before, and I am quite nervous getting around when off the ship. Can anyone help?

The Baths are in Virgin Gorda which is part of the British Virgin Islands, not a trip I would recommend during a one-day cruise stop. St John, on the other hand, is a 20 or 45 minute ride from St Thomas depending on which ferry you take (Red Hook or Charlotte Amalie). We went to the Baths from St John during our land vacation last summer and if I recall it was about a 2 hour ride by boat, we did a day trip which included several stops and we were gone from about 8 until 4.

As Jeanne B explained "the Baths" are on Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands. It is not a trip for a one day port stop in St Thomas. I am not at all sure it can even be done given time constraints and the necessity of going thrugh BVI customs and US customs on the way back.If you are concerned about going off the ship on your own, why not take one of the ship sponsored tours to St John? The cost is about the same as a "do it yourself" and you should have no worries about geting back to the ship.
