mickeyo Posted August 31, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2007 We booked this cruise yesterday. Looking forward to a "different" itinerary, though it's a shame Tobago has been dropped - it's one of our unvisited Caribbean islands.:) Just hope that the charter is not with Monarch. The last time we flew with them out of Barbados, we were diverted via Gander!!! From 90 DegF to having the wings de-iced in a few hours.
Twanips Posted September 2, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted September 2, 2007 Hello, We join the Braemar 14/2/08, flying from Manchester. I have a funny feeling we will be flying with Monach, we have been with them a few time to Goa, but now we only go back to Goa if its with First Choice ( we found them really good ) We live up in Scotland, so Im keen to know the flight time, in case we need over night accomadation. Everything I read about The Braemar, sounds OK. I lived up in Braemar Aberdeenshire for about 22 yrs, ( The home of The Royal Highland Games.) If you have any info on the trip, would luv to hear. Bye for now Vivian and Brian ( Twanips@aol.com)
mickeyo Posted September 15, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 15, 2007 Brian and Vivian Sorry for delay in response, but we've only just (this morning) returned from Dover after 14 glorious days in the Baltic on Celebrity Constellation. We paired up with a couple for one of the excursions - guess what, they we're Brian and Viv too!! We were on Braemar about 4 years ago, and found it perfectly good - although we weren't such "experienced" cruisers in those days, and may have become rather more choosy since. The only problem we can recall though is the way you were rushed to finish if you chose to eat in Palm Court in the evening as an alternative to the main restaurant. Many plus points though. The Bramear was also the ship where, not expecting to get an invitation to the Captain's table, WE invited HIM to ours - and he came!!!!! Will keep in touch to share any further info we receive - perhaps you'll do the same. We live in Weybridge, Surrey. Regards Mike & Pauline
