Mama Cat Posted May 27, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 27, 2007 I have found The Sheraton Towers to be one of the best places to stay in NYC. It's convenient to most everything -- I've walked down to Macy's from there -- and up to Central Park. Enjoy!!!
rkacruiser Posted May 28, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 28, 2007 Yes, in November of last year, I stayed at this hotel. I would not do so again. Room was small; heat did not work well; decor was, IMO, dark. Front desk clerk upon check-in was not well trained. The hotel is in a good location. But, for the money, the New York Hilton is just East of the Sheraton and is a much nicer property.
blue_eyes Posted May 28, 2007 #5 Share Posted May 28, 2007 Hi, We have stayed at the Sheraton New York and Towers several times, the most recent being over Easter. We have always found it consistent, albeit a bit impersonal, but overall a good hotel in a good location. For us, it's just that little bit away from Times Square to be out of the hustle-and-bustle, but close enough to be there in minutes, which we like. I have to agree with rkacruiser, the rooms can be on the small side and the decor is dark but we spent so little time there it wasn't an issue for us but it appreciate it may be for others. Also like rkacruiser, we stayed many years ago (1999) at the New York Hilton and thought it was a nice hotel. We've also stayed at the Sheraton Manhattan (just across the street from SNYaT) many years ago (1993) and although it was nice at the time, I have read some not so favourable reviews on it. Whatever you decide, I hope you have a fantastic vacation. Blue
