All Things Enchantment of the Seas

Recommended Posts

loved your pics, how warm was it in cococay and key west? Did anyone swim? My friend and I are sailing on April 10th!:) D

Thank you!

The water was a bit chilly when you first got in but if you could stand it for about 5 minutes or got into deeper water it was fine. The sun was shining and it was very warm air temp! We had to get into the water to cool off.

FYI..we watched as the passengers who rented the hobie cats (with the sails) had to be "rescued" by guys with jet skis because there was plenty of breeze to take them out to sea..but none to get back to the beach..they took it well though..it was an experience!

Hope you have the same beautiful day and the water is nice and warm for you!!! :)

What great pictures, thank you so much for posting them!! How would you compare the EOS to the Wonder and the Navigator?

You are so welcome..The only bad thing about any cruise is it is always over way too soon! ;)

It has been a long time since we were on the Wonder. However, if you have small children it is wonderful. They had a FUN sailaway party with a concert - like mood for all ages as well as the Disney characters everywhere. They dote over the kids which is what it is all about when you take your children isn't it?

Too many little kids and babies on boad for me and no casino which we enjoy but didn't miss with 6 yr old DD.

The Wonder as a ship was more "polished" - but I felt we paid too much for the Disney name. There are other adults that swear by Disney ..it just isn't for us.

The Navigator! HUGE! Kind of like comparing apples to oranges. Everyone has their preferences as far as size of ships but I LOVED it! (DH however, loves the size of EOS!) The beautiful promenade is a giant street and some inside rooms over look it. I loved the Mardi Gras parade each evening. The food was good and we enjoyed having both Portofino's and Chops to choose from. The Enchantment only has Chops due to size of the ship..there just isn't enough room.

We took DD out of school for the Enchantment (I heard some gasps didn't I?) and with it being Spring Break time I was fearing the worst with teens and young adults..not so. It was perfect. Plenty of kids DD age - the teen advisor said around 60 between 12 - 17..and the curfew was enforced during our sailing. No rowdy spring breakers. Pool area was smaller than the Navigator and Wonder but fine. I also enjoyed the Viking Crown Lounge on EOS. It was a quiet place to sit and watch all the happenings from above the pool deck. It turns into the disco around 11 and I saw some very tired looking people every day so it must have been fun!

The Enchantment shows her age in places..like the balconies showed some rust in the doorway (to be expected with all that sea air!) The employees were putting in new carpet in the stairwells and refinishing wooden balcony railings when we left.

I wasn't too impressed with the food in the dining room sorry to say - not that it was bad but I felt our last few cruises on Carnival far surpassed RC on this! (sorry!) I think it was MN who said it too.. I swear I remember receiving an amenities basket on all of our other cruises. Trial sizes of shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, vitamin C powder, deoderant, all kinds of goodies..Not on EOS. I really needed some conditioner!

Drinks were good and EOS has a wonderful, helpful crew. Most go out of their way to make your cruise HAPPY! :) I loved the public areas and shows on EOS ..DD loved the Jump Zone as you could probably tell with all the pics! :D You won't find it on any other ship. At least I don't think you can..lol.

I enjoyed the Enchantment but don't know if I would sail it again only due to the fact that there are many other ships and lines out there to try!

If there are other comparisons you want just let me know..I know you will have a great time on EOS!

There, now I just need to put my review together! Any other questions? I love to talk about our cruises and helping others plan theirs! I'm sure you will have a wonderful time and sunny days!

We were on Enchantment on the same cruise. What a great time we had. The cruise director Marc Bing Bong Walker was fantastic. We loved it so much we went again in Oct 07 and are going again with our daughter and son in law May 31. The only bad thing about the cruise last June we got delayed getting off the ship and sweated making the plane.

Our cruise director was Paul Rutter...(I thought I had the called him by the wrong name for our cruise!)..but a wonderful man just the same!

There were several times when he came up to us and asked us how our day was..he's a great CD!

I am taking my father on a short 5 day cruise on the Enchantment and would like to know how many people were dressed up for formal night? Were the men in blazers, suits, or not many dressed up at all? Just trying to decide if I want to take my suit or blazer.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

We were on a 5-night Enchantment cruise last July and most everyone was dressed formally. Men wore suits, a few wore tuxedos.

Most (including us!) dressed for formal night even on our 4 night cruise. Many men had on sport coats but just as many in suits and a few in tuxes too. IMHO, If it's between the suit and blazer..take both and wear whatever you are most comfortable with that evening! :)

My Wife and I just got back from our second cruise on Enchantment of the Seas. We were sold on the ship after our first cruise and loved it every bit as much the second time around. It is a huge step up from Sovereign of the Seas which is what we were on for our first cruise. We definately recommend Chops Steak House, the food and service there are outstanding. It costs $25.00 per person, but well worth every dollar. Beyond that, the ship really has a ton to offer, and the staff is great.

Have a great time!!

i remember this dessert well . . . . we were too stuffed after our dinner for dessert, so they packed it up to go for me, and I devoured it around 1:00 a.m.!

So excited!

My hubby and I have tried Princess, Carnival, Celebrity and RCCL, and Royal Caribbean is the winner!

Our last experience was on Navigator for 7 days, so I don't know what to expect from a 4-day Enchantment cruise, but I'm psyched!!! This time it's me and my best friend from high school celebrating the big 40.

We're booked on the April 24-28 to Key West and Cozymel.

I have two questions: Has Chankanaab (sp?) been rebuilt or is there a better beach to visit/snorkle in Cozymel?

I can't remember...does RCCL provide shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, etc in the staterooms?

Thanks for the input!

Olesiabr....we are traveling on this cruise too! Are you like me dying with anticipation??? I'm still trying to read through this entire thread - what a great source of information. This will be our 2nd EOS cruise - 1st post-stretch - looking forward to seeing her again!.

Your pictures were awesome! I took a peek because I am chomping at the bit from our embarkment on the EOS on 4/24!!!!! :D

Glad you liked them.I have a few more too..just realized they weren't included. I have plans tonight but hopefully can get them included tomorrow.

We stayed pre-cruise at Marriott Harbor Beach Resort for a great rate.

We wished we would have had more time pre-cruise since there is SO much to do and a fabulous beach and pool! I wanted to be onboard early so didn't get to experience it the way you should a beautiful resort. We tried to stay there the night after the cruise when we would have had a full 24 hours to enjoy it but the resort wouldn't budge off a 500.00 a night rate!!??HUH?? ) Guess we didn't want to stay there THAT bad!

SO, for our post cruise hotel we decided on the new Courtyard by Marriott just off Los Olas..great location, great amenities and a wonderful staff! One other thing..we ate at Mango's in FLL the night before the cruise - great atmosphere and food! Ate outside and our waiter was very kind to my 14yr old dd. (Some places aren't in FLL! :o ) Just some ideas for those still looking for something else to plan - it helps pass the time for those of you who asked how to get through the countdown days! Get online and look at all the great hotels and restaurants in the area- it keeps me occupied for hours...sometimes days and weeks.. FUN!!!:D

So, they have changed the cruise director? it's not paul rutter anymore? (i think that was his name). when i went in sept. of 2007 we definately didn't have anyone named marc bing bong walker. :-)
