Dingle promoted as Ratcliffe retires21 Jun 2007David Dingle has been promoted to CEO of Carnival UK as a result of Peter Ratcliffe’s decision to step down as chief of P&O Princess Cruises International.

 

Dingle was formerly managing director of Carnival UK. The new CEO role sees him reporting directly in to Carnival Corp chairman and CEO Mickey Arison. Previously, he reported into Ratcliffe for P&O Cruises and Ocean Village.

Cunard UK now also goes directly to Arison.

The role also sees Dingle chair the management committee overseeing P&O Cruises Australia.

Ratcliffe explained that it had always been his plan to retire at 60. His retirement will take effect from March 6 2008, his 60th birthday. Dingle's promotion is effective immediately.

His retirement also sees Alan Buckelew promoted to CEO of P&O Princess Cruises.
