Dominica River Tubing

Hello, we are sailing on the Dawn Princess in February 05, and I was wondering if anyone has done the Dominica River Tubing excursion. Seems fun.

Hi, we were on the destiny last week. We did the river tubing. Had a blast!! Only wish we could have gone down the river twice as we didn't want it to end! You don't go fast and have to watch out for rocks, but everyone who went on our tour had a great time. If we ever go to that port again, I'd do it again!

Which river tubing company did you use? Did you book it through the cruise line or on your own?

Hi, we were on Carnival and booked it through them. I didn't see it offered anywhere online when I was looking. I think carnival offered a morning and afternoon trip.

Thanks, perhaps I'll try through the cruise line. I'm just worried because I'm booking for over 25 ppl, so I don't know if they will accomodate us.

This is the excursion I want to take in Dominica. I will be on Carnival and I was wondering that if it is offered in the morning, do you have time to go back to the ship and do another tour for the afternoon? I would like to possibly do some shopping or something else.

It's great to hear positive comments about this excursion. I thought it looked like a lot of fun and to me, the best carnival excursion on Dominica! It was $79 per person?

Forgot to ask...did you wear shorts with your bathing suit (ladies)? Thought I read somewhere there is plywood on the bottom of the tube? That would be uncomfortable???

mnsawyer - You do not even notice the plywood at the bottom of the tube. It actually makes it more comfortable because you have a surface to rest your bottom on and to readjust yourself if you need to.

 

When my girlfriends and I did this in Jamaica we wore our bathing suits, but had some water like shorts on over it. We also wore water shoes. The men that went just had on their swimtrunks and watershoes. Some men had t-shirts on with it as well. It was soooo much fun, which is why I want to do this excrusion with my husband when we go. I know he would love it and so would you.

Questions..how long is the ride, where did you leave your gear that you didn't want while on the ride..ie towels, other clothing??
