We were on the Ecstasy June 11-16 sailing, had a blast!! I'll try to post some pics. To all future Ecstasy cruisers, Eliana in the Windsong dining room is so sweet, so funny! she was wonderful. We just loved her and she made dinner so enjoyable. We were at table 207!! We loved watching them sing in a silly way happy birthday/anniversary to people at dinner! We loved all the food we had! Gotta get the warm chocolate melting cake OH MY GOSH!! so good! and the tiramisu(sp?) was really good to! I even tried some stuff at the sushi bar!! not too bad! We liked all the shows, the magician was great. Goose the CD is great. we had alot of fun in Coz, went to Paradise beach. It stormed!! but afterwards we had great fun. Husband did some kayaking, lost his expensive sunglasses falling off the iceberg! we jumped on the trampoline and then snorkeled trying to find his Maui Jims! We wish we would have had time to check out Margaritaville or carlos and charlies, but we waited a couple hours at the bar at paradise beach eating and drinking, trying to wait for it to stop raining. It really is so pretty here, just beautiful water!! when it's not cloudy from rain!! Didn't care to much for progreso, the people selling their wares would NOT leave us alone, every 2 seconds here came another one. After awhile we just decided to go back to the ship for lunch. We would have enjoyed it better doing the corona beach break at least where they aren't allowed. Plus we didn't really feel that safe. I knew it wasn't like cozumel, more "real" mexico is what we had read about. But it was too real for me!! That's just my opinion-Stinky, dirty and didn't feel too comfortable walking thru town to get the beach.Who knows what the police we saw running down the street were after. We should have done the trip to the Reef Club they offered on the shuttle from the pier.now we know to do an excursion at least next time we are there. We were on the verandah deck, really liked being that high up!! rooms were nice, room steward was great. didn't see her much but our room was always cleaned and she stocked our ice bucket everyday!! we were in V28 and our friends were V40. there was always crew about cleaning or repainting somewhere. Say hello to Everhard at the Metro Bar, very sweet guy!! We had a wonderful time and can't wait to try to conquest now!! trying to convince hubby to go in feb, we'll see!

Thanks for the review but sorry you didn't enjoy your stop at Progreso. I ported there twice and now have been back to Merida and the area for three extended land vacations. It is a stop that needs research since there are many options. Those that are going, just checkout the Ports of Call board and http://www.yucatantoday.com

...and be sure to check out Hdawson's photos of Progreso and the surrounding area (Merida, Chichen Itza, and Uxmal) at:

It'll change your mind about stopping at Progreso!
