Waitlist for Balcony

I just tried to book a cabin on the CB for October. I had my heart set on a balcony. None were available so they waitlisted me with a deposit. Now I'm wondering what will happen? Has anyone had experience with this before that they'll share with me. Will they offer me a lesser cabin or a better one for that matter if a balcony doesn't become available? Do you know if I can cancel? I thought I'd wait a few days before I call and see what happens.

I would keep my eyes peeled on the Princess website for that sailing, just to make sure if a balcony shows up, you can contact Princess or your TA if you booked with one. I haven't had a lot of success with Princess waitlist in the past and have had to watch for myself as when waitlisted, we were never contacted. So, you might take a peek every few days just to check, and if one has not shown up by final payment date, check every day, several times each day if you can to see if any show up.
