scarlet4897 Posted July 5, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 5, 2007 Hi everyone! I had a question about cooling wine or sparkling wine brought aboard the ship. Will the steward be able to provide a large champagne ice bucket for our cabin, or should be prepared to bring our own? Thanks!
bajsf Posted July 5, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 5, 2007 I know on RCI they have buckets that the room steward fills with ice. I'm sure Carnival has the same.
scarlet4897 Posted July 5, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted July 5, 2007 Thanks but the little ice bucket in the carnival cabins are quite small, just to hold ice, and couldn't fit a bottle of champagne or wine. Maybe I should just bring a soft sided cooler to fill with ice to fit the bottle? Its not glamorous but it would do the job....
denb Posted July 5, 2007 #4 Share Posted July 5, 2007 Yes, Carnival room stewards supply them too when asked. They are larger than the ice buckets. We also take a collapsible cooler to hold extra ice for chilling cans of soda and Frapuccino.
mosel Posted July 5, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 5, 2007 We got one of the buckets they used for the bucket of beers. It worked just fine for even the large bottle of champagne. The room steward will keep it full of ice. No problem. Have Fun!! Cindy
scarlet4897 Posted July 5, 2007 Author #6 Share Posted July 5, 2007 Thanks! Its good to know that I'll be able to cool the wine or sparkling wine if I bring it. I really didnt' want to tote a champagne bucket along for my cruise.....I don't care if its the plastic bin for the beer, function is all I care about! cruisinbuddy Posted July 5, 2007 #7 Share Posted July 5, 2007 All we had to do is leave the wine on the counter and it was put on ice for us in one of those plastic buckets, and the "ice bucket" was filled also. We never had to ask once. Jono was great.
