dmarsey1 Posted May 11, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 11, 2004 Hello, When we traveled to the Caribbean last year you all were very helpful in telling us what we should not miss. Now we are taking a cruise to Alaska in August and need to know the same thing. We are stopping at: Juneau Ketchikan Skagway Victoria BC. We would like to find things both for us (with 2 daughters 18 and 20) as well as for the in-laws (70 years old). Thanks for all your help in advance. CruiseIsGood Posted May 12, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2004 Victoria: If you're there long enough, can't miss Butchart Gardens. And the Butterfly Gardens nearby. People come from around the world to see Butchart. Juneau: Mendenhall Glacier. I'd suggest the canoe trip to get up close. Mt. Roberts Tram is great too. Ketchikan: Misty Fjords flightseeing, if you can afford it. Walking Creek Street is fun. Skagway: The train is nice. The in-laws may fall asleep. Budget Queen Posted May 12, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 12, 2004 Look over a shore excursion list and narrow down your intersts. There are just TOO many excellent tours to consider otherwise. Budget fully - you get only half a trip without the touring. I would also not hesistate to split up your group- go with the interests of the individuals, tours are too great to miss out and too costly if not of interest.
