Safes in rooms ?

This will be our first cruise- Carnival Conquest on Oct.17

I know there are safes in rooms and they can be open with a magnetic strip on the back of any kind of card. How can that be safe? Anyone have any problembs? Thanks Diane

Because only the magnetic strip on the card you actually use to PROGRAM

the safe will open it. You have to make sure you have that card at all times, because once you program the safe to open and close with that particular card, no other card will work. That's why it's "safe". No pun intended...:)
