Is there dog sledding near Anchorage?

We will be spending 5 days traveling on our own between Anchorage and Denali after our July cruise. Are there any places to go dog sledding on snow/ice between these two places? We have other plans while we are in port in both Juneau and Skagway, so are hoping to find a place for dog sledding after the cruise is over. I know they do demonstrations at Denali Nat. Park but my son has his heart set on a ride! Any suggestions would be appreciated!

In Seward, Godwin Glacier Dogsledding is available. Discounts are offered for children.

We did this tour last Aug. Lot of fun. There were 2 teenage boys there also.

None that I know of between Anchorage and Denali Park but 1 hour south of Anchorage - http://www.alyeskaresort.com/page.asp?intNodeID=11148

 

With the dog interest- also be sure to stop in Wasilla- Dog sled headquarters and small museum- Togo is stuffed there. They also run the bargain of bargains short dog cart rides for $5.

Thanks Budget Queen for this information. Have you or anyone else ever done the dog sled tour at Alyeska? Any idea how it compares to the ones out of Skagway or Juneau? It would sure fit better into our schedule.

Do you have a link for the Wasilla area and the $5 rides? That sounds like an extra bonus!
