Mandypup Posted August 27, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2004 PV Pam We are docking at 1pm, and have planned to do the Canopy tour at 2pm. Will that allow enough time to get there? Will we be able to be back on the ship by 6:00pm? I'm worried about cutting it too close. Mandy
pvpam Posted August 28, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 28, 2004 Hmmmm, which ship are you coming in on that comes at 1pm?! If they dock at 1pm, you should be able to depart about 30 min later, although oftentimes the ships arrive early. Grab a cab as soon as you can and head on out to the pick up point. You should get back to the ship on time. You might want to send an email to Sylvia at the Canopy Tours to advise her you might be a bit late. Or, let me know and I can call her. Thanks! suziehmkr Posted August 28, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 28, 2004 Don't forget about the time difference.... PV Time and Ship Time are different in most cases. This has caused many to miss their excursions.
Mandypup Posted August 29, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted August 29, 2004 Thanks for the info PVPam and suziehmkr! I did check with the cruise line to verify port time (thanks to previous info on the boards). We are on the RSSC Mariner. Apparently they only do this particular cruise a couple times a year so that's why you may not be familiar with their odd docking time. There won't be any other ships in port at that time, as far as I can tell. I did get in contact with Sylvie already, just a little nervous about booking our own excursion instead of going thru the ship.
pvpam Posted August 30, 2004 #5 Share Posted August 30, 2004 You will have a great time! Sylvie is a good friend of mine. Have fun swinging through the trees! The river is great right now as well.
Mandypup Posted August 30, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted August 30, 2004 PV Pam - Can't book yet because we don't leave until Nov 2nd, but thanks for offering to call Sylvie for me. I'm looking forward to trying it....but I'm also afraid of heights! But what the heck, if you're gonna die you might as well die on vacation :D
suziehmkr Posted August 31, 2004 #7 Share Posted August 31, 2004 Mandypup, I am also afraid of heights... so much so that I cannot look out the window when DH drives over a bridge! With that said - I had an absolute BLAST on the Los Veranos tour!!! Missed meeting Sylvie though, she was on vacation! Darn! Smiles - Tina

newaddiction Posted August 31, 2004 #9 Share Posted August 31, 2004 We sail out on Pride this Sunday and will be in PV on Wednesday the 8th. I've already booked with Los Veranos (12 of us). Thanks Pam for mentioning the river - I love the water, even if it's just looking at it from up high.

pvpam Posted August 31, 2004 #11 Share Posted August 31, 2004 Hola! No, I don't speak German. As far as I know, Sylvie is the only one and we speak in English!
Starspangle1 Posted September 1, 2004 #12 Share Posted September 1, 2004 Pam, German is a persons name that works there, I'm sorry but after I read what I wrote it seemed like I was asking about speaking it. He is a tall Mexican man, about 37 years old, we have been friends for about 10 years and I thought maybe you would know him.
tara5525 Posted September 3, 2004 #13 Share Posted September 3, 2004 I sent in a reservation request for the canopy tour last week and never got a response. I then sent another reservation request yesterday, but still no response. What's the normal time for a response?
pvpam Posted September 4, 2004 #14 Share Posted September 4, 2004 I think it varies! Sylvie is really busy. You should hear from her soon. If not, let me know and I can contact her. I talk to her all the time.
tara5525 Posted September 20, 2004 #15 Share Posted September 20, 2004 Pam, I still haven't received a response from Sylvie. I emailed her about a month ago. Can you please get in touch with her to see if she received my reservation request? The date is November 15, 2004 for 2 people. Thanks!
suziehmkr Posted September 20, 2004 #16 Share Posted September 20, 2004 tara5525 I am not PVPam, but you may not have heard back from Sylvie because you can only make reservations 30 days in advance. This might be the problem and you may need to re-send it in the middle of October. Tina
