RHefley228 Posted October 4, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 4, 2007 There is a 24-hour taxi strike scheduled to begin at 5 AM on October 22nd. Like the 48-hour strike last month, not all drivers will be participating, but if it really happens there will be a smaller number of cabs on the street, and the TLC will probably again institute a system of zone fares, sharing cabs, etc.

Black cars(private limos aka car service) are still available. this strike will have less support. in my opinion.
RHefley228 Posted October 4, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted October 4, 2007 I think you're right. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets called off.
puggdogg1 Posted October 7, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 7, 2007 Plus my friend was saying that there was times where the zone system was actually cheaper than the regular metered rate, depending on where you were going in the city. She said the only bummer was if you got weird people in the cab you were stuck with them.... LOL The first strike was really not that big of a deal, just a minor inconvenience.
