Great website to post your pictures!

Recommended Posts

I found a great site to post pictures. The customization is fantastic. I've tried webshots, yahoo, and several others, but nothing comes close to this. ;)

Dear Happy Traveling,

That is a great website!

I have been using webshots, but they have 3000 pictures limits and I ran

out of space on my webshots account already, and need to look for a better website to up load my pictures.

Would you help on the following question on photosite.com?

1. What is cost?

2. What is the max pictures or mas storage space?

Many thanks,

nancy

I agree with others that photosite does offer a good site and their software is easy to use. I have had a site with them since 6/04 at www.jprphotos.com

A word of caution if you plan to have a lot of traffic at your site you can quickly run out of bandwidth which is reset each month. I had to upgrade to the top package due to traffic at my site. I also wish that they had a counter feature to let you know how many visits your site has received.

Looks like you scanned your photos and then uploaded them. Your formal pictures look OK because you scanned 8x10's or 5x7's. Your small ones look like they were 4x6's.

Your images have to be a certain size so that they can be "resized" to fit your frames. This usually means uploading a photo that Photosite "thinks" is larger than 8x10, then it can resize it to fit into the frame.

Your scanner software may be able to enlarge your 4x6's. Or, you may be able to use some photo editing software for that.

I usually haven't had much luck in making enlargements of scanned 4x6's but I have gotten some to look acceptable.

You may also be able to contact the folks at Photosite for advice.

I use Photoshop Elements 2.0 which allows you to add text to a picture. You click on the text tool click on the picture where you want to add the copyright symbol and while holding down the Alt key type 0169 which puts in the symbol. Then add your name or whatever and highlight everything to change the font, size, color etc. A great book on using Photoshop Elements is: "The Photoshop Elements book for digital photographers" by Scott Kelby. He also has out a new book for Elements 3.0 which I just upgraded to. It is amazing the difference Elements can make in your photos.
