HappyTraveling Posted September 1, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2004 I found a great site to post pictures. The customization is fantastic. I've tried webshots, yahoo, and several others, but nothing comes close to this. ;) Check out my link: http://www.wongngravrok.photosite.com To sign up for your own photosite, click here. http://www.photosite.com/~site/pslo/photo_website.ffhtml
nancy_s_leong Posted September 1, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 1, 2004 Dear Happy Traveling, That is a great website! I have been using webshots, but they have 3000 pictures limits and I ran out of space on my webshots account already, and need to look for a better website to up load my pictures. Would you help on the following question on photosite.com? 1. What is cost? 2. What is the max pictures or mas storage space? Many thanks, nancy

Gingee Posted November 10, 2004 #9 Share Posted November 10, 2004 Thanks for the great site. I just put two of my cruise pictures in there. I wish they were better but oh well. Here is my site. http://awilliams476.photosite.com/
JPCruising Posted November 11, 2004 #10 Share Posted November 11, 2004 I agree with others that photosite does offer a good site and their software is easy to use. I have had a site with them since 6/04 at www.jprphotos.com A word of caution if you plan to have a lot of traffic at your site you can quickly run out of bandwidth which is reset each month. I had to upgrade to the top package due to traffic at my site. I also wish that they had a counter feature to let you know how many visits your site has received. Gingee Posted November 11, 2004 #11 Share Posted November 11, 2004 If anyone looks at my sight (shown above), do you have any idea how I can make my pictures bigger? Feel free to email me at rcw02@insightbb.com Thanks
richtersl Posted November 11, 2004 #12 Share Posted November 11, 2004 Looks like you scanned your photos and then uploaded them. Your formal pictures look OK because you scanned 8x10's or 5x7's. Your small ones look like they were 4x6's. Your images have to be a certain size so that they can be "resized" to fit your frames. This usually means uploading a photo that Photosite "thinks" is larger than 8x10, then it can resize it to fit into the frame. Your scanner software may be able to enlarge your 4x6's. Or, you may be able to use some photo editing software for that. I usually haven't had much luck in making enlargements of scanned 4x6's but I have gotten some to look acceptable. You may also be able to contact the folks at Photosite for advice.

HappyTraveling Posted November 14, 2004 Author #14 Share Posted November 14, 2004 I also wish that they had a counter feature to let you know how many visits your site has received. JPR You should let www.photosite.com know. I'm sure there are others who wish the same. :)
HappyTraveling Posted November 14, 2004 Author #15 Share Posted November 14, 2004 JPR: How did you add your copyright to all your pictures? I've never figured that one out yet! :o
JPCruising Posted November 14, 2004 #16 Share Posted November 14, 2004 I use Photoshop Elements 2.0 which allows you to add text to a picture. You click on the text tool click on the picture where you want to add the copyright symbol and while holding down the Alt key type 0169 which puts in the symbol. Then add your name or whatever and highlight everything to change the font, size, color etc. A great book on using Photoshop Elements is: "The Photoshop Elements book for digital photographers" by Scott Kelby. He also has out a new book for Elements 3.0 which I just upgraded to. It is amazing the difference Elements can make in your photos. This way I can have my other projects on there at the same time.http://www.listofboards.com/tripindex.html?1098137481562 40 dollars a month is a lot. for that much, you can pay for a year of hosting with a decent web hosting package. just need to buy a domain and have a gallery programmed installed.
