Thanks for the info. I misunderstood. You meant to steer the day tripper to an activity. I was all excited that I could cruise the mighty Yukon north from Fairbanks. Sure don't want to paddle a canoe!!! Thanks again.

Thanks for the advise about trying to make the drive to Coldfoot in one day.

 

We have been to Fairbanks before and have done the "tourist" stuff

(Riverboat trip, the University, panning for gold etc) and enjoyed it all very much.

 

We were looking for something a little different and thougt the trip to the Artic Circle would be do-able. I had read that the road was mostly paved and when I found Rental Companies that would now rent cars for that area, I thought it sounded like a great idea. We may want to re think the drive/fly trip, even though its a bit pricey.
